Let’s Get Ducky!

Today, I am going to share with you today a cause that is near and dear to my heart. You all know that I am very passionate about our community and making it a better place. I have a motto I use in my life, if I am going to be a part of it then I am going to make it better or I am not going to waste my time. In a nutshell unless I am bringing value to something or someone, why am I doing this? It’s a good check to make sure you’re doing what you’re doing for the right reasons. Anyways I digress….

SO PACE Center for Girls is an all girls school that meets year round and allows teenage girls who are in need of more promise get just that. I have lots and lots of statistics and will happily give those out to whoever would like them but today I just wanted to share a little about PACE. The girls come on their own this is a 100% voluntary program. These girls just like anyone else’s children you see walking about. They just have had something traumatic, happen to them. The death of a loved one, trauma, abuse of some sort, the list goes on and on. PACE allows them to get back on track where they got off track and offer these girls a hope and future beyond their circumstances. Will you help me help these girls?

Right now we are about to launch what we call our “Duck Season.” What that basically means is that we use the duck mascot and do lots of fun things to raise money for the school as it is a 501(c)3 and we could not do what we do for the school without YOUR help. There is a race called the Lucky Ducky Race for PACE that goes on each year and we sell ducks for $5 a piece. When you purchase ducks those ducks are entered into the “race” where they are dumped in the Manatee River and the one who wins the race gets an awesome prize. I am going to post links here. You do not have to be present to win so if you are reading this and not local and just want to help the cause then GOD BLESS YOU!

I have set up a team where I am setting my current goal to 100 ducks…I am going to be changing that 200 more than likely because EVERY duck sold helps a girl. If you have any questions about PACE or how you can get involved please do not hesitate to ask me!

The photo in today’s post is another fun thing PACE does called the Best Dressed Duck Contest where you decorate a duck and the community votes on it. I am sure mine is easy to guess?

Adopt a duck and help my team and the girls here!

Thank you for your support and for helping the girls!
