Tonight’s post is real. Not that I don’t post my heart with you guys to begin with, but tonight is personal. I recently had a conversation with someone who blogs and he mentioned something to me that stuck with me. He said “one, always be yourself and two I just finally got vulnerable enough to stand naked in front of everyone in a room.” WELL…obviously that was figuratively and not literally (thank you Kim for your recent selfie, I was going to post about that tonight but will save it for later.)
Tonight, I just want to send a note of encouragement to those who have also been in a spot like me. A year ago I was in a place where I made the decision to pick up pieces that were not meant to be picked up. I thought in that moment it was the right thing to do but life teaches you that although you think you are making the right decision, there are times in your life when you think with your heart, think with the past, and make rash decisions and that is ok…because life is beautiful and God restores all things. BUT if I can offer someone encouragement tonight that is facing a hard decision, a job change, a new opportunity, a relationship, whatever it may be, if you think it is broken (listen to your gut), DON’T PICK IT BACK UP and try to super glue it. What’s broken and picked up will only cut you and wound you further. Instead, let God pick the pieces up for you and put them back together like only HE can. This way it will save you the heartache, confusion, and some of the pain.
God says in his word that he will make beauty from ashes…check this out.
“to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.”
Isaiah 61:3 NIV
He then goes on to also say that he will restore us!
The LORD says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you.
Joel 2:25 NLT
What is your locust in your life you need restoration from? God will do it! You know how I know this? Because all of his promises are YES and AMEN. Believe that God will heal your brokenness and restore your years the locusts have stolen from you. Believe it and be encouraged tonight….God is the God of miracles and he wants to do one in your life.
I love you friends!
